DARK BLUE ON LIGHT BLUE

What a crazy last couple months it's been here in Los Angeles. Living in downtown LA you never know what you will find...but really. Although taking these pictures late at night was probably not the smartest thing it was worth the results.

I hope that you have been able to pick up that I am a sucker for denim...denim everything! I love pairing my favorite shirts with a pair of jeans from my collection. Although my love for flare jeans has not shown since I have moved here, I am still working on it.

I strutted my denim on denim look in the very trendy downtown LA. I wore my favorite low rise jeans made by Hudson, they are super light and thin which is perfect for California. My denim top (just featured in Harpers Bazaar) went perfectly with my favorite boho bag by Lucky Brand

Jeans: Hudson, Top: Guess, Bag: Lucky Brand, Shoes: Sam Edelman

Top: JCrew, Jeans: Seven Jeans, Sunglasses: Ray-Bans, Lipstick: MAC, Shoes: Michael Kors

There is nothing more simple than denim on denim.

CASHMERE
Sweater: JCrew, Leggings: Vince, Boots: Uggs, Lip Gloss: Mac, and Mug: Crate and Barrel

I hope your entire holiday is filled with relaxation, delicious food, comfy clothes, family, and friends. I am so thankful to be back home in Wisconsin right now where I have had the time to be home with family.

Stay warm and stay cozy! Put on your warmest sweater, leggings, boots, favorite lip gloss and sip some warm coffee.

Happy Thanksgiving everybody!

BITTER SWEET

I am a big believer in staying true to your personal style so while trends come and go, learn to make them your very own. Living in Los Angeles leather, bolts, black and stiletto nails seem to follow me everywhere. I love trends but I also don't like to pull away from my very feminine style.

Look at the beautiful view!

After finding the cream sweater that I am wearing from BCBG I couldn't help but challenge the edgy look into something pretty. It was as easy as putting on my favorite Nars pink lipstick, a pink belt and wedges.

I am a sucker for studded shoes so once I found the shoes I am wearing online, I could not settle for anything else. These Dolce Vita wedges have been my favorite shoes for fall... I have to control myself so that I don't wear them everyday.

Sweater: BCBG, Shorts: AG, Rings: Lucky Brand, Belt: ASOS, Tights: Urban Outfitters

There is no better layering look than tights and your favorite summer shorts, like my personal favorite my high rise AG shorts.

Shoes: Dolce Vita

I really want to quote Carrie Bradshaw right now but I'll refrain. Learn to make trends your own!
Happy Monday everyone!

VOLARE
 Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, Germany.

With the holidays right around the corner travel season is amongst all of us. There is nothing more stressful then not knowing what clothes to put in your suitcase, so I put together two posts dedicated to simple packing.
While traveling to Europe for 2 weeks I had to pack light....which is nearly impossible...but I figured it out. No I did not need 3 pairs of boots, 2 dresses, 3 pairs of jeans and 4 sweaters. As shocking as it is, all you need is one coat, 2 sweaters, 1 dress, 1 pair of jeans and 2 pair of shoes as staples in your suitcase. Here is some help:
Watch: Michael Kors, Coat: Current Elliot, Jeans: Rag & Bone, Boots: Steve Madden, Bag: Longchamp, and Gloves: JCrew.
Top: Rag & Bone, Jeans: Rag & Bone, Dress: Top Shop, Shoes: Steve Madden, and Necklace: House of Harlow 1960.
I recommend bringing a pair of heels that go well with jeans and heels as well as a necklace that is versatile.

SIMPLE AND GOLD
Bag: Kate Spade, Pants: Alice and Olivia, Sweater: Rag & Bone, Shoes: Vince Camuto, Ring: Betsey Johnson, and Necklace: Marc by Marc Jacobs.

My favorite color to mix and match with is gold, so why not emphasize it in a fun outfit for fall. Gold can easily be played up or dressed down especially with jewlrey. I chose this Marc Jacobs necklace and Betsey Johnson ring to bring some funk to the outfit but by still keeping it classy. There is nothing more fun than placing a Betsey Johnson ring on your finger...am I right? Find the boot that best suites you for this time of season. I chose this Vince Camuto boot because I have been drooling over the Rag & Bone pair for way too long. Lastly make your cozy fall sweater look fabulous with a polished colored purse.

STILL A LAYERING GIRL
Good news! Ah I can not believe I can finally share this with you all but I have finally been able to follow my dreams and move to Los Angeles. Cheesy I know but I couldn't be more happy. The move in process from the Midwest to LA has taken some time so I blame that for my lack of blogging. Please enjoy some of my very own fall pieces.

Top: Zoa, Vest: Free People, Jeans: J Brand.

Boots: Steve Madden, Purse: Louis Vuitton

I took advantage of the 60 degree weather in LA to flaunt some layered fall clothes. I wore my absolute favorite Free People vest which has leather detail and I also wore my go to boots by Steve Madden. I finished off the outfit with some fun rose gold accessories like my watch and arrowed ring.

Ring: House of Harlow, Watch: Michael Kors.

This Midwest girl is here to stay and layer.

MY FALL PICKS
It is fashions favorite season as well as mine when it comes to clothing. There is nothing better than putting on your favorite pair of boots and jeans while walking out of your house for a beautiful fall day. So my advice is to buy those fun transitional pieces for your fall season.
Shoes: Guess, Clutch: Cole Haan, Necklace: House of Harlow 1960, Perfume: Chloe, Pants: J Brand, Blouse/Top: Equipment, Sweater: Equipment.

Above is my choice for going out in fall. Coated denim is an essential and a fun way to mix up a boring pair of black pants (brands like J Brand and Rich and Skinny do it best) , booties, and a soft cashmere sweater like the emerald green one above.

Belt: Hobbs, Sweater: Marc by Marc Jacobs, Lipstick: Nars, Top: Splendid, Jeans: Joes Jeans, Bag: Lucky Brand, Shoes: Converse.

This season a pair of vintage jeans are a must, not only because they're fun but because they give a spin on a pair of plain dark jeans. I insist on looking at Joes Jeans supply at once... I may have invested in a pair myself already. I am such a long sweater person and Marc Jacobs has this covered every season...it is worth the investment (I promise!). So grab your pumpkin spice latte (the taste of fall) and rush out with your slouchy boho bag.

I hope all is well. Happy fall season everybody!
